I Predict A Riot

Today was the G.R.W.E. (Greyhound Rescue West Of England) dog Show held at How Caple Gardens nr Ross on Wye. Mr Gibbs behaved impeccably, so relaxed about the whole thing was he that he spent the majority of the time lying with his legs stretched out and causing a lurcher sized obstruction that could only be moved by offering food, forget the M6 Toll we have the Gibbs Toll, no doubt a large amount of money was raised to help with the rehoming of these lazy gentle dogs. If you can help have a look here GRWE. By the way Mr Gibbs came 6th in the best greyhound cross from GRWE category & got a lovely rosette, plus some biscuits & sweets from the tombola, the boys got some pencils, Mrs OB got a t-shirt, I got to drive….

  • Cricket & Cucumber Sandwiches

Alright, there’s no cucumber sandwiches, in fact as we didn’t intend being out for too long all that we took were some crisps and apples (and we got some welsh cakes from the church), so here we are again, Skenfrith Castle (Norman), situated on the Monnow (it even had a wharf for barges coming upriver from Chepstow & Monmouth).
A wader around the castle, along the river & around the church before the cricket commences, (Child One was not happy when an apple was substituted for the ball – he did whack it though) – note: it’s difficult fielding when your holding onto a lurcher who just lies down and goes to sleep and we met a brindle lurcher pup who got incredibly excited at seeing Mr Gibbs

  • Mr Gibbs actually out of his bed
  • Let’s go through the rectangular window
  • Child Two’s Newton moment
  • Skimming stones
  • Mr Gibbs is still awake
  • Skenfrith Castle
  • St Brigit’s Church
  • Mr Gibbs starting to tire
  • Defiance
  • La familia
  • St Brigit’s
  • Child Two batting, no footwork there
  • Mr Gibbs at mid-on
  • Child One, still no footwork
  • What more can you ask for, close to home, sun, castle, river, skimming stones, cricket etc

    Meeting of Minds

Here we have the intrepid explorer Sir Gibbs of Gibbleswick meeting the dreaded hedgehog, I mean it’s got spikes ‘n’ everything, not as scary as the hopping toad though, or the pigeon that tried to land on his head whilst sleeping/playing dead, lets face it most things spook Gibbs
